The 40 year old classic

read more about: Movies.

Although I never saw The Jungle Book growing up, it remains one of my husband’s favorite childhood movies.

The movie is being re-released today from the Disney’s vault, and I think it’s really a lovely addition to any children’s movie collection. When we we watching the movie, I have to say that I think my husband enjoyed it the most! My almost 5 year old was fairly distracted and was the least interested in the movie, but my other 2 kids, and especially the almost 2 year old, we very much interested and laughing out loud at some parts. It seems that 4 years old and above age group might prefer a slightly more advanced (or more modern?) plot.

The actual movie is something akin to ‘Tarzan’, a boy growing up in the jungle, having many adventures and friends, and of course getting into all kinds of trouble with the ‘bad guys’! The bear, baloo, is really wonderful and fun, and I found it interesting that although the movie is 40 years old, my toddler was really loving the songs and the funny animal antics.
