As I sat on the couch watching this show, I found myself wondering why I agreed to review it! I mean, my oldest kid is almost 5 years old, and clearly, not old enough to be exposed to this level of violence.
I had never really watched the Power Rangers before, but, I have boys, and the name sounds appealing to boys, so I thought I would give it a try. Now, all 3 boys did watch the show, and as I was sitting there in shock and saying “this is not good for kids”, my almost 5 year old seemed extremely fascinated and said “mommy, you think it’s bad, but I think it’s COOL!”
The actually show itself is ok, you know, the classic battle of good vs. evil, with interesting costumes and no shortage of ‘stunts’. I am not certain what age group this show would be appropriate for, but since I told my son that he can’t watch anymore, he’s been sure to tell me each day how cool the power rangers are, and that once he gets ‘bigger’ he can watch it!
Check out the preview and let me know what you think!

I was asked to try out Wisk’s new laundry detergent – free detergent in a house with 3 little boys, how could I refuse!

Just for the review I decided to squat in the dirt with my cream pants!! Then I asked my husband to wash it with the Multi-Action Concentrated Wisk – the result was pretty decent, I didn’t pre-treat it and still most of the dirt stains were gone, I imagine that if I did do the pre-treatment all of the stains would have been removed.
The best thing about it is that it’s 3x concentrated and comes in a relatively small and ‘not-heavy’ bottle, so it’s very convenient. The not-so-great thing for me was that it didn’t do too good with our multi-colored laundry, usually we use color-safe detergent and it does a reasonable job of not completely ruining all our clothes, but when they were washed with Wisk, I noticed that some of the colors did bleed onto all the clothing.
I think it’s great for washing those clothes that always tend to look dirty, like white socks, and kids uniforms (my son wears a uniform).
It comes in regular and ‘high-efficiency’ versions so if you have a high efficiency washer, the formula is supposed to be a low sudsing one that doesn’t waste energy!

I received a copy of Disney’s new Little Einsteins movie to review – and one to give to one of you!! Email me at info@adventures-in-motherhood.com for a chance to win a copy, I’ll do a random draw on Tuesday!
Now, we don’t have the Disney channel and my kids have only ever played the Little Einsteins game on Disney’s Playhouse, so it was a new experience for all 5 of us!

First things first, my 3 and 4 year olds did not leave the couch for the entire time the movie was on (1 hour), this was most probably because it was something they had never seen before, but I will give those little einsteins credit for holding their attention – it’s hard to accomplish! My 1 1/2 year old, however, really was not all that impressed with the movie and was quickly up and about, playing with all of his brothers toys!
The movie itself reminded me of a mix between Wonder Pets and Dora, in fact, when I was in the kitchen and could only hear the movie, I could have sworn I was hearing Ming Ming, but I must admit they were less annoying. Although I am not a big follower of classical music, the movie does contain a lot of art and culture in a way that children can learn and enjoy. Overall I think it was good, even though I would not purchase it for my kids – my cousin actually is all set to get her copy once its released, she and my niece are huge fans.
Try it out for yourself!
