Remember the extra clothing!

My older kids are almost 3 and 4, so they don’t really need a change of clothing when we go out, but you know, neurotic, paranoid mother that I am will certainly take clothes and much more when I go anywhere most of the time everything remains in the car, but anyways…
When visiting a theme park however, it is almost mandatory that extra clothing is taken for small children, because you never know what can happen, like, for example, deciding on the spur of the moment that it is ok for your kids to go frolic in the water, forgetting that you did not even bring a towel or extra underwear and then attempting to air dry your kids, while ignoring the cries of the eldest that he desperately needed to pee. Guys, what happened next was probably number 2 on my list of embarrassing things!
After I screamed and shouted, made my husband take him without pants or underwear to the bathroom, trying hard to ignore all the people staring at us, my sister pointed out that we didn’t know anyone here, and what’s the worst that could happen they would just say those Moslems! I always knew they were bad people! Which, really, they were probably thinking anyways, so, you know, just walk away and forget about it!”
The moral of the story if you see a kid not wearing pants or underwear and urinating in the middle of a theme park, don’t judge his mother! And when venturing out with small children, make sure you take extra clothing!!
The clothing that I took was actually one of my favorite things, my mom bought it for them, pajamas by Calvin Klein, which she got at Winners for about $10 – $15, because she would not spend more than that for pajamas. The pjs are so soft and comfy that the kids love them (and they can be worn without underwear), they can rolled up into a tiny ball, so it’s easy to carry, and when worn to theme parks, they look surprisingly not like pajamas, you can even pass it off as normal clothing!
