A room with a view

My kids’ bedroom is my favorite place in the house! It’s just fun and makes me feel happy…

I did freehand the letters, and made some mistakes, but I cleverly painted balloons over them!

For the arabic letters, since this is not native to me, I made stencils. And yes, I did make a mistake with the sequence of letters, but I just lost track of where I was, painted the letter and couldn’t undo it, so I just went on and hoped that arabs wouldn’t notice!

We put up those little baskets for them to put their toys into, you know the smaller toys, like blocks, cars, spoons…

But the room ultimately always ends up looking like this!!
And yes, we bought everything from ikea.
So when can you come and help me decorate my house?

When the second one wore those glasses I used to call him John (As in Elton John). He would reply “I’m not John, I’m (insert name here)”. BTW, those glasses belong to the baby!

Ikea rules!..For kids stuff anyway!!
Our kids rooms are still a work in progress, but yeah..I like hanging in there too…
That looks really great! Great painting!
We just did Caity’s room in this aqua blue and she has some antique pics of fairies on the walls.
We BOUGHT paint for Adam’s room.
Haven’t done anything with it yet though.
I keep hoping we will win the lottery first and buy a house!

Salams Shazia,
love how you decorated the room, mashaAllah it’s beautiful. Those ideas are so cute. we’re renting the townhouse we’re in so we can’t do paint but the real obstacle i’ve found in decorating the kids’ bedroom is that one child is a girl and the other is a boy!

Mona… thanks! When we painted the room and stuff, it was when my first child was born and we didn’t know what we were going to have after that, so that is why I choose yellow with different accent colours for the letters. It was only recently that it really went to the blue and green main colours. So maybe something like that would work… just very colourful!
Maliha.. jk
Cakes, thanks!!!
crunchy, I hope you get a house too!! caity’s room sounds great!
mona… I love ikea because it is so pratical and affordable, like crunchy said, especially for kids stuff.
Tasmiya… steal away!!

surviving, I would actually LOVE to help, it’s so much fun for me, I really enjoy those kinds of projects
