Remember the extra clothing!

My older kids are almost 3 and 4, so they don’t really need a change of clothing when we go out, but you know, neurotic, paranoid mother that I am will certainly take clothes and much more when I go anywhere most of the time everything remains in the car, but anyways…

When visiting a theme park however, it is almost mandatory that extra clothing is taken for small children, because you never know what can happen, like, for example, deciding on the spur of the moment that it is ok for your kids to go frolic in the water, forgetting that you did not even bring a towel or extra underwear and then attempting to air dry your kids, while ignoring the cries of the eldest that he desperately needed to pee. Guys, what happened next was probably number 2 on my list of embarrassing things!

After I screamed and shouted, made my husband take him without pants or underwear to the bathroom, trying hard to ignore all the people staring at us, my sister pointed out that we didn’t know anyone here, and what’s the worst that could happen they would just say those Moslems! I always knew they were bad people! Which, really, they were probably thinking anyways, so, you know, just walk away and forget about it!”

The moral of the story if you see a kid not wearing pants or underwear and urinating in the middle of a theme park, don’t judge his mother! And when venturing out with small children, make sure you take extra clothing!!

The clothing that I took was actually one of my favorite things, my mom bought it for them, pajamas by Calvin Klein, which she got at Winners for about $10 – $15, because she would not spend more than that for pajamas. The pjs are so soft and comfy that the kids love them (and they can be worn without underwear), they can rolled up into a tiny ball, so it’s easy to carry, and when worn to theme parks, they look surprisingly not like pajamas, you can even pass it off as normal clothing!

Like Flickr, but private & catalogues all your photos

One of my favorite applications is Adobe Photoshop Elements, because it really does an awesome job of keeping all my photos organized… I have 1370 photos for last year catalogued in there.

Now, I use Adobe Photoshop CS2 all the time for my web development work, but I bought Elements as well because I wanted to try it out so I would know if to recommend it to friends.

There are a few things that I love about it and a couple things I don’t use because I don’t need to, but you would love!

I love the timeline! This is so cool and easy, you can slide along the timeline to see your photos.

I love that everything can be easily backed up… preferably to a different hard drive, just in case…

I love that photos can be tagged and categorized into collections.

There’s much more, and I love it all… you would love the photo editing feature, you can edit your photos with just a few easy clicks, everything is very intuitive and easy to use.

So… get it and enjoy! smile

Let's play!

My kids’ favorite website has to be Nick Jr.

This morning, while my husband was still asleep with the baby, I was working in the office, while the kids were playing right next door in their bedroom… At the point when they starting fighting (you know, they can only play together lovingly for ‘so’ long), I called them into the office and let them play with daddy’s laptop…

Do you see the brotherly love? It was really fun watching them play together, discussing the games, the 4 year old asking his little brother’s opinions, the almost 3 year old asking to hear the story ‘again’...

Of course, the fighting does start again… notice the 4th row of pictures?! smile

A room with a view

My kids’ bedroom is my favorite place in the house! It’s just fun and makes me feel happy…

I did freehand the letters, and made some mistakes, but I cleverly painted balloons over them! smile

For the arabic letters, since this is not native to me, I made stencils. And yes, I did make a mistake with the sequence of letters, but I just lost track of where I was, painted the letter and couldn’t undo it, so I just went on and hoped that arabs wouldn’t notice! rasberry

We put up those little baskets for them to put their toys into, you know the smaller toys, like blocks, cars, spoons…

But the room ultimately always ends up looking like this!!

And yes, we bought everything from ikea. smile

My kid, now part of the paparazzi

So, back in October, I saw this very cool kiddy gadget advertised, and I thought that my kids would totally LOVE this thing! I convinced the mousehunter to check it out at Toysrus and I was naive enough to think that this ‘toy’ could not be more that $40…

Needless to say we came home empty handed!!

But, all was not lost… these kids have grandparents!!! Yes, my friends, you need to know how to use those people creatively… I dropped a line here and there about the camera, and I said “oh, look how much they love my camera, how cute they are with it!” Need I say more?

Behold!

It was sold out in stores, so we got it on ebay. The 2 year old is obsessed with it… he has taken out about 200 photos thus far… The 4 year old likes it, but is waiting for some “cool things” to take photos of!

Totally recommend this product, kids ages 3 to 6 will enjoy it!
