Not exactly AWOL yet

Sorry for my lack of posts this week, it seems like I am in a perpetual state of “weird”, or perhaps we can call it “the great funk of 2008” that just won’t end!

Anyways, this morning I decided that a long dress over my pj’s was a good look to drop my kids to school, so as I came down stairs, my almost 4 year old goes to me, “wow, mommy you look beautiful!”, I was understandably blown away as 1) I did NOT look beautiful, and 2) it’s always great to hear someone say that I look beautiful, yes, even if I know I don’t.

Then, because my 5 year old is always concerned, we have the following exchange…

5 year old: Mommy, why are you wearing that big dress?

Me: Well, so I can just keep my pajamas on underneath

5 year old: hmmm, by the way, you know that it will get dirty right?!

Me: umm, ok.

almost 4 year old: Rain, rain, smash my brain!

Yes, it was raining, and yes, my dress/pajama outfit did get wet, and my almost 4 year old kept singing that “rain, rain” song with different lyrics all the way to school!

So, if you’re not on facebook or twitter, you may not know that I am going out to work soon, well, in 1 week to be exact. It is only a 6 month contract, as I am not giving up the entrepreneurial thing, I am just making a small change in my routine, with the hopes of having less panic attacks. Wish me luck!
