We have a mouse in the house! Yes! You read correctly!

Last night I went to bed about 4am, despite the fact that my 3 kids wake up at the crack of 7, because I was so scared of the mouse!

Ok, the mouse was in our room… apparently coming from a hole in the wall… and it ran under the baby’s crib, so, I grabbed the sleeping baby and brought him into our bed! Then, my valiant hubby decided to chase the mouse with a… FLASHLIGHT… actually, just with the light from the flashlight! Obviously, that did not work.

Now we have about 6 mouse traps all over the house, which, seems like not enough, because, THERE IS NO MOUSE IN ANY OF THEM!!!

Funny thing is that when I was growing up in Trinidad, we had a great variety of little creatures living with us… mice, cockroaches, lizards, little frogs… seriously, we did! And I don’t remember being as traumatized as I am now…I guess it could have been because my 8 year old self was more interested in playing tea-party outside with coconut shells and flower petals, or hosting my very own radio show from my room, or pretending that my sister and I were amazing concert artists!

My husband, who was born here in Canada, and apparently never had any encounters with household pests of this magnitude, has informed me that since this is “my area of expertise”, I should bring forward some solutions, instead of cowardly hiding behind him and his mighty flashlight!
