A word of thanks

Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending a conference here in Toronto. (RIS) It is actually a 3 day conference, but when you have 3 kids (and trust me on this) NO ONE volunteers to baby-sit, and you would have to beg even your own mother to baby-sit for just 1 day! smile

I know a few of the organizers and their wives (they are not all guys, but I only happen to know the guys via my husband), and I wanted to say a very special thanks to all of them and their families. The $90 that my husband and I spent for just one day cannot even begin to express the gratitude I feel for these people that put their lives on hold and spend countless hours planning this event for “our” benefit. So, to them I say a heartfelt thanks!

For me as a Muslim, it is not surprising that there was a Christian speaker and a Jewish speaker, or that none of the Muslim speakers that I listened to spoke about jihad, but as the Rabbi rightly pointed out, average Americans and Canadians would be shocked to see this event. We held our Christian and Jewish friends in high esteem, and I am sure they were given the best treatment, as should be our way, as Muslims. Sometimes we all forget to have humanity, and since ‘tis the season, lets all be reminded of the importance of humanity.

Also, thanks to my readers, blurkers, commentors, fellow bloggers, once-in-a-while-ers, all, thanks!
