Speedlinking… because I, personally, don’t have much to say

read more about: speedlinking.

If you still have a week of summer left before school, you can do these interesting crafts with the kids – make pencil cases from old juice boxes and create felt monsters from kids drawings (I personally think this is an amazingly cool idea!)

Here are some unique ideas for places to get married, I always wanted to get married on a beach, well actually, more like a mountain that overlooked the ocean, how about you?

I wish that I could be here right now!

Finally, and a little removed from the rest of articles here, Willow has a really excellent post about Muslims, offense, and reacting like normal people, I know nothing about the author, the book, or the specific issue, but I totally agree with this post.

Happy Friday!

Thoughts from Amber

If I wasn’t Mormon and didn’t do my wedding in the temple, I would have gotten married outside. Beach. Mountains. The works.

And I’m sure it would have rained. grin

Thoughts from iMuslim

Am I weird for not actually caring much about my wedding day? Really… I don’t fantasize about it at all. I’d be happy with a registry/masjid event.

I don’t have much hope of being the best looking girl in the room, so don’t particularly care about finding the hottest dress. I don’t want to waste time, effort and money with frilly extras like ice swans, and cheesy DJs.

This isn’t recent cynicism… I don’t think I’ve ever cared!

The only thing I have ever thought about is the five minutes after the “I do” stage… and how thrilled/scared/nervous I am likely to be with the guy who not so long ago was forbidden territory… and now he is ALL MINE! muwahaha. hehe

Thoughts from shaz

Amber - yeah, it would prolly rain for me too! we’re lucky like that right?! wink

iMuslim - well, no, that is not weird, i actually really respect that in a person. i am not “into” weddings either actually. i never thought about it either, BUT if i did have a choice, i would love a really small outdoor, ocean-view one!

Thoughts from iMuslim

Hmm, okay… if I am forced to think about it (haha), your idea would be pretty sweet, insha’Allah.

Oh, what about in a Japanese garden? I saw that in a film the other day… was beautiful.

Thoughts from shaz

i don’t know if i am in to “gardens” necessarily - oceans, yes! but i am sure that would be beautiful, you should do something like that! send me pics! when you get the “perfect” guy of course!

Thoughts from Specs

Oh wow, i’m at home here! LOL, there’s nothing else in the world that would make me unhappier than a BIG wedding. I like your ideas, sea shores and Japanese gardens...you almost make ME want to get married, haha.

Thoughts from shaz

i know right! no offense to anyone but i hate big weddings - i hate to be “on display” and there is no way i would spend a year planning for one day! of course, i am not judging anyone who likes a big wedding! smile

Thoughts from sf

My dream wedding:
Do nikah with only my family and his family(immediate members) present. Jump on the bike with him and drive off towards the sunset(well, head to some tropical destination, sighhh)
My mom almost “passed out” when I told her that, well, this was when I was still single, hehehehe. It would have been just PERFECT :D

Thoughts from shaz

well sf, i’ll give you the prize for being brave! u should have done it - i would have liked to have seen that!

Thoughts from sf

Hahahhahaha, you know, I wish I could have done just that but then, am the first child and so is he. And both families wanted to do something traditional bla bla, argghhhh! Now, if I got married here, maybe I would have done just that! wink
