WAHM Baby!

read more about: mom escapes.

So, yes, this is my precious workspace that took 4 months to be completed. Just pretend you are greatly impressed! smile

You can find the less attractive side of the workspace here with some notes.

Since I’m now working from home’n’all, I need a workspace… and seeing that we’ve only had guests in the spare room 3 times in the 5 years we’ve been here, I figure an office is a wiser use of space!

My husband’s desk is against the opposite wall, and the kids also have their little play area in the corner of the room, which is usually a complete mess but they don’t really interfere with our stuff too much…

Yes, Everything is from IKEA!

Desk (4.5’ in length) – AS-IS section, $10!!!
Shelf (5.5’ in length) – AS-IS section, $15 (it is really a door, so the bottom of the shelf looks nice with the panels and the cabinet lights)

The other things I got were the brackets for the shelf, the lights, notice board, bin… the final cost was about $97!

Thoughts from Surviving

Impressive!!!

I think you need to make another trip.  This time to my house to help get things setup and looking nice around here, LOL!

Thoughts from Naeva - Mom of 2

No need for me to pretend. I like it!

:D I also have a corner where I can ‘work’ while my kids are away.

Isn’t it lovely to have that space?

Thoughts from Maliha

Salamaat,
Its awesome Mashaallah! Currently my workspace is the corner of the couch with the laptop hanging precariously on the arm rest smile

Inshaallah someday smile

Thoughts from mokey

lovely workmanship (but who does the compliment go to…you or the mousehunter) your workspace rocks!!!!

Thoughts from Tasmiya

OK. Wow. This is excellent! MashaAllah and that’s actually quite cheap (even when I convert it to Aussie dollars). I just commented on Mousehunter’s saying IKEA is expensive here in Oz. Or maybe I’m just not looking hard enough for bargains.

So happy for you. Now no excuses – get back to work!

Thoughts from shaz

thanks Surviving! I’d be happy to.. smile

Oh Naeva, I sooooo know what you mean! It’s totally amazing to have my own little space! And welcome!

Thanks Maliha! InshaAllah, inshaAllah! smile It really is worth it… I used to work mostly on my bed before and it was ok, except I felt so disorganized and not very productive.

Lol Mokey! Yes, it is the handy work of mousehunter, I make the plans and then wait for him to get ‘in the mood’ to do the work!

Tasmiya, well the AS-IS section is pretty cool, I have actually become quite obsessed with the bargins! It just needs a bit of creativity smile

dripping with envy
It’s all so clean and crisp looking! I love it! What a good bargain hunter you are! You have inspired me to find some space of my own.  Though I can’t have a Room of One’s Own, there has to be a corner around here somewhere.

must make this a priority.

Thoughts from Faryal

I have SO been meaning to go to Ikea, and you have just inspired me to make it a priority… love the corner, the lights, but, I have to ask.. have the kids touched the cup of colorful pens yet?

Thoughts from shaz

lol cakes! always happy to inspire… go forth and be creative with those corners! smile

Oh Faryal, you should go! but look at things with a very, very open mind… you just never know what great deals you’ll find… I have a wardrobe in my kitchen!! lol… that’s a post for another day!
And the pens… well, that’s just there for the photo shoot, it’s normally further in on the desk, behind my laptop.

Thoughts from Faryal

HAhahahha… that’s so funny, (the pens).. LOL

Thoughts from mokey

‘wait for him to get in the mood’ now that’s funny! by the way, arent you the ruler of the roost? he always have to be in the mood

Thoughts from wayfarer

Gotta love IKEA for organizing!
