My coffee conundrum

At some point in the last few months I had to give up drinking coffee, the taste was just becoming too awful to handle, even if admittedly, coffee is my crack!

See, I know that the taste of instant coffee is pretty horrid, but I am not the type of person that would own a traditional coffee maker though, and by “type of person”, I mean that there is no possible way that I would EVER spend 20 minutes trying to figure out how to use those filters!

Let me introduce you to the best coffee maker ever, well, “ever” might be a little strong, but to me at least, it’s just super amazing! It’s a personal coffee maker, and it comes with coffee in little tea-bag looking things, called pods, which are simply placed within the coffee maker, push the button, and “ta-da”, yummy coffee!! And when I say “yummy”, oh my God, it’s really very good, you know, especially for like 1 minute of work!

My problem now is that I am drinking waaaay too much coffee, it’s like my new hobby, you know, “oh, I feel a little stressed… I know, I’ll have some coffee!” Try it! For those of you who are regular coffee drinkers at least, you’ll love it!

I think these are lovely, and then the tree hugger in me gets uptight about the little caplet things to use it.

sigh.

Thoughts from shaz

well, i am not sure what a caplet is, but the bags that the coffee comes in just goes into my organic waste, so that’s pretty good i think. smile

Salams. WOw cool coffee maker! I’m more of a decaf tea drinker but once in a while i like to have coffee, and i’m like you, too lazy to make it in the coffee maker, even though i have one, so i use instant too. Maybe that’s why i don’t drink it often? I would suggest you switch to decaf, slowly though to avoid headaches. I only drink decaf. But it still has a tiny bit of caffeine. Caffeine is actually a depressant. It initially gives you energy but then your body crashes down and needs more caffeine to feel normal. So it’s a bad cycle. And with time your body gets used to a certain level so you have to increase the amount in order to get that energy burst you want. My husband recently went caffeine free since Ramadan and hasn’t gone back and he has even more energy than before. But he tries hard to make sure he goes to sleep on time so he will get enough hours of sleep.
