Breast cancer is the most common cancer among Canadian women.

In 2007, an estimated 22,300 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 5,300 will die of it.

An estimated 170 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 50 will die of it.

On average, 429 Canadian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer every week.

On average, 102 Canadian women will die of breast cancer every week.

One in 9 women is expected to develop breast cancer during her lifetime. One in 27 will die of it.

Breast cancer death rates have declined in all ages combined and in every age group since at least the mid 1990s.

Incidence and death rates for breast cancer have declined since 1969 in women aged 20-39.

One of the most important things that we can do is educate ourselves about breast cancer, and try to reduce our risk of developing it. I hope you take the time to visit some of the breast cancer awareness websites, test yourself, or get tested.

Just like last year, I am doing giveaways!! And the profits from the product go towards breast cancer research.

salam alaykum sis! Thank you for raising this awareness, may Allah reward you! Just a little glitch I think, on the third paragraph it says 170 MEN will be diagnoised, I think it’s supposed to be women?

Jazak allah kheyran sis, Unique

Thoughts from shaz

good luck everyone! smile and remember, even if you don’t have a blog, or your blog didn’t go pink, you can still enter if you’ve made a donation to breast cancer research.

Thoughts from Deborah

I’m pink too. My dear, compassionate, most amazing friend’s Celebration of Life service was today. She’d been diagnosed with Inflammatory Breast Cancer a mere eighteen months ago. PLEASE educate yourselves about this most aggressive form of breast cancer. Signs and symptoms are very different.
