Breakfast for 3
Occasionally I give my kids a choice at breakfast time, mostly because I have given them precious little in terms of a selection for this most important meal of the day, so I know that I can handle their requests.
The orders came in, as anticipated, pancakes for one, and toast with eggs for the other.
I forced lovingly asked my husband to come help with breakfast this morning since he was at home and I spent most of the night awake with the baby. He reluctantly enthusiastically came down from his office to help!
Me: Can you please peel the fruits for the baby, an apple, an avocado, and an orange, and wash them first
Mouse-hunter: Why? He is not eating the skins!
Me: Huh? And, blend them when you are done
Mouse-hunter: What??? I am not doing that!
Me: What will you do if I am not here?
Mouse-hunter: Men are very resourceful! If there are resources available, we will find them!
Translation: He would feed the baby bottle food. (Which I do as well, but I still try to make fresh fruits a few times a week)
He ended up making the egg and buttering toast, while I finished pancakes, peeled and blended the fruits, and started feeding the baby…
