The Potty Wars. day 2

read more about: kids.

Tired and stressed at the end of day 1, I gave in and decided that he needed to wear diapers before I totally lost my mind.

This morning I woke up with fresh, new ideas… I realized that this potty training thing could not be handled alone, I needed reinforcements… so I called in the 4 year old!

4 year old: Listen to me! When I was your size I wear a pamper too, but then I got big, and was 3, and LISTEN TO ME! Are you listening? Don’t look over there! Look at me! I was big and I wear a jockey shorts and use the toilet! ok! ok? ok!
almost 3 year old: O.K!

Ummm, was that all it took?

So, my friends, apparently we just had to make sure that the almost 3 year old was ‘listening’! Seriously! Also, I put on underwear instead of a pull-ups, and although he did wet them, by the time he was wearing the third pair, he remembered to tell me BEFORE! Yeah!

Ok, so things are looking up. He is taking his nap with a diaper though… I mean, the 4 year old is good, but he ain’t that good! smile

ROFL!  Yay! 4 year olds rule!
being like big brother is definitely the best incentive.

all we had were diapers and underwear. it’s shocking how great a variety you get in the that dept. now. i have NO idea of how pull ups are diff. from diapers. or what jockey shorts even are (guessing boxers?). see, boys undies drawer is a complete secret to me.

in fact, so are women’s. sigh. it isn’t as simple as normal panties anymore. tried looking deeper into this and apparently they have things called tangas, hipsters, briefs (full-figure, control), boy shorts etc etc. JEEZZ! they’re just there to cover your “thang”. GOD.

Anyways, yay for the 4 yr old. Shocking how influential he can be, eh? I know I was my older sis’ shadow back in the day.

Cakes.. true eh, he would do anything that his big brother tells him! I don’t know why I didn’t think of it before!!

Nowal, ahh the confusing world of underwear… I was particularly surprized when I realized that underwear now came with jewelry! just saying…
Jockey shorts is just regular briefs.. I grew up in Trinidad and we always called them jockey shorts in our family, so… smile

brilliant Shazia!!! I’m going to use that technique from now on for everything smile thanks!!!
also, i wanted to tell you that i wrote an article on an easier way to potty train that sadly needs much editing, but still i hope it portrays the general idea. It seems i forgot to move it to my site so this is the link from the old blog. http://umibrahim.tripod.com/Blog/index.blog/1457139/potty-training-the-easier-way/

Thoughts from Suroor

Can I borrow your ver 1 to train Rayyan?
