Love Thursday & the ada's

read more about: life.

Did I ever mention that I have 4 sisters? I do. I live with only 2 though, the other 2 belongs with my dad and I will talk about them another time, today I have to talk about the 2 that I live with.

This is us about 11 years ago. You’ll have to guess which one is me, but I am the eldest, and the fattest. wink We don’t look like this, or live together anymore, but we are all still close.

My first son would call them ‘ada’, it was the cutest thing ever! They loved it and were sad when he started saying “aunty” correctly.

My sister that is just 1 year younger than me is like a second mother to my kids, she loves them more than anyone else I think! The baby gets so excited when he just hears her voice!

My other sister is 5 years younger, and is actually the inspiration for this post. She just graduated from university and is currently pondering her next move, so I am taking advantage of that and I invite her over almost every day! She does come over a couple days for the week and her help is invaluable. With everything that has been happening over these past weeks, I would have likely crumbled to pieces without her help!

And I have to make a confession; she helped me to prepare this, this, and this.

So, I am publicly saying thanks to her for all her help recently, and to them both for their endless support since the day I found out I was pregnant for the first time!!!

Salamaat,
awww don’t you just adore family? I only have one sister and she is nuts over Sufyan and vice versa. It’s so cute to see them together…and of course, gives me a chance to catch up with one million and one things i have to do smile

How beautiful! Mashallah. I love my sisters too. I have two younger sisters.

You are the one on the right. Always knew that smile

MashaAllah. That’s wonderful that you have that support and the kids have aunts they can see regularly. my kids adore their aunts too, it’s really cute.

Thoughts from Sherry

Thats what sisters are for right!! Im sure your sisters appreciate you and your kids as much as you appreciate them. Your kids probably bring alot of happiness to their lives too…..im sure.

Thoughts from Sid

I have two younger sisters too. One is younger than me by 13 months and the other one(baby) is younger than me by 13 yrs! I miss my sisters so much coz they are so far away from me. We always communicate but I wish they lived in the same city as me. :(

Thoughts from shaz

sisters are really the best! and sorry for those who don’t live close by :( I can just imagine how it must feel.

You and your sisters are beautiful!  My mom and her sisters were very, very close, and I always wished I had that type of relationship with my sister.  You are truly blessed!

i just noticed now you said 4 sisters. I have 4 sisters too smile and i’m the oldest. After us 5 girls, my mom had 2 boys. I moved an hour away from my family a year and a half ago so i only see them once a week (alhamdulillah for that)- and i’m the one that has to go to see them. they visit maybe once every 3 months if i invite them for dinner. i think when they get older they will try to keep in touch with me more but right now each of them is in their own world and their anti-socialness it seems applies to their own sister as well :( but alhamdulillah when i need them they are there.

Thoughts from shaz

you know what mona, I think that the eldest usually becomes the one that has to look out for the others! Neither of my sisters are married, so they have the time to help me… and they live like 10 mins away! smile they are great sisters, but I think the eldest always ends up being the one that looks out for the others.

Thoughts from mokey

i have no sisters…it’s just my brother and i…he lives in canada now (just over 3 years). the thing is, when we were younger we fought alot and now we’re separated, i miss him like hell…now that we’re both adults…you know all grown up an stuff,we appreciate each other a whole lot more….i know that he misses me too although he wont admit it…although he is older than i am, i am just so proud of him and i am glad that he’s my brother…i wont like it any other way…

Thoughts from shaz

sorry that you and your brother are apart Mokey, I am sure that he does know how much you love him and I am positive that he loves you just as much! smile It’s great to express love and appreciation for our siblings, as it is often neglected. :(

Thoughts from Mona UmIbrahim

i know what you mean and i’m always trying, but it gets to a point where you want a little something in return once in a while. like a phone call or email or even just sit next to you when you do go over your parents house.
