Feel free to be amazed by my wicked problem solving skills!

read more about: talk to me.

It’s been made clear to me that I have a huge problem – I apparently do not know how to relax! Yes, I kid you not, this is my big problem!

You see, I need to be doing multiple things at once or I am unable to function properly, for example, if I am watching TV, I will also be on my laptop… I am one of those people who consistently talk at the movies, or who will watch the same movie ten times and still miss parts of it!

Anyways, I’ve decided that tonight I am going to watch a movie and eat ice-cream – relaxing right? Only thing is I am not a big ice-cream fan, actually I am not even a small ice-cream fan, ok, me, ice-cream, and fan should not be used in the same sentence, but eating ice-cream is supposed to be relaxing, or at least so I hear! I do like ben & jerry’s though, and now their ice-cream also supports ONE.

So, umm, what do you do to relax?

Thoughts from H.E. Eigler

I’m no good at relaxing either.  Sometimes going for a walk helps.  Enjoy the movie, I really liked it, hope you do too smile

Thoughts from Lisa

How did your relaxing go? I am not a big ice cream fan either but Ben and Jerry’s is mmmm.

Heather - I love walks actually, especially really early in the morning, or in the night, but it hasn’t happened since i started working outside of my house! also the weather is totally sucky these days. The movie was good.

Lisa - ummm, yeah, i had like 4 spoons of ice-cream and gave it up for my laptop and of course i was also cooking dinner as well!! i watched the movie with my 2 year old, it was fun cuz it’s sorta scary and he kept exclaiming, but he insisted he wanted to still watch it, he was totally hilarious. then i thought i should watch something else in the nite, to, you know, relax, and i fell asleep on the couch! yeah… i’m totally rocking the relaxing thing!

Thoughts from umarah

i read or go out to a cafe and have some coffee and read but the idea is to go alone.

Thoughts from koonj

yeah, being a grownup in this culture does that to you. It’s not unusual. I have the problem too. Not because I dont want to - there just isn’t the stretch of time one needs to really unwind.

JUST as I clicked on your post I was thinking, I cant focus on work today - I should go to a park, or watch a movie. Maybe it’s a sign ...

Thoughts from Specs

You can always read a book. Its hard to do anything while doing that.

Oh, but don’t listen to anything while you’re at it, okay?

Happy Relaxing!

Thoughts from shaz

Koonj - I think it is a sign - i hope you did end up doing something for yourself.

Umarah - good idea, i can’t focus enuf to actually read a book tho, i’ve tried.

Specs - yeah, the book thing doesn’t go that well. i did have a pedicure - that was actually relaxing, i like when ppl play with my feet! i think i’m going to get a bike…

Thoughts from sf

Haaahhhh, relaxing, well, what can I say?? I do a hundred things too while trying to do one thing! Now I have started going for morning walks once I drop my daughter to school, seems to be working, I feel more energized (and need to get that baby weight off me now!).

Thoughts from shaz

sf - hey, how are you? haven’t heard from you in a while! are you enjoying the incredible heat???
morning walks sound great, i’m glad you’re able to get it in, hope it keeps up!

Thoughts from gwendomama
