Definitely not my precious

Last year winter kicked my ass and reduced me to tears a number of times. I mean seriously, by absolutely no stretch of the imagination am I a fan of winter, if I could hibernate, I happily would! We’ve been a bit fortunate so far because this is the first real snow fall for the season, but I really, truly was not built to handle winter, especially on my own.

Anyway. Pray for me, because sitting in my car in tears because I turned into an icicle after spending half hour in the freezing wind trying to disarm my car of snow and ice is not something I want to repeat this winter!

I don’t know if this solution will work for you, as you live in much colder and icier climes, but anyway… my mum usually douses the car windows in medium-hot water (warmed in the microwave), to quickly clear it of ice… I wonder if adding salt to the warm water would prevent the screen re-icing as quickly?

Hmm…

I guess the water can’t be /too/ hot, else it may crack the shield!

Er, iMuslim… that would for sure crack the windshield here… ANY water at ANY temp!

cant use the salt that way.. would corrode the joints too.
