Shaz: So tell me mousehunter, how was your day posing as “mommy”

Mousehunter: It was cool! Not stressful at all really!

Shaz: Really? I’m intrigued, please tell us exactly what you did all day!!

Mousehunter: I took care of the kids! Fed them, napped them, changed them, and then still had time to do the laundry and fold all the clothes that you had sitting there for weeks!

Shaz: Ummm, riiiiight… well, let me ask you something, how much actual income-earning work did you get done?

Mousehunter: None, but you know it’s my day off right?

Shaz: Hmmm…. Anyways, tell us what you fed them.

Mousehunter: Mac & Cheese with spinach and by the way, they ate all of it!

Shaz: Wow mousehunter! That is impressive! But, can you tell us who prepared the food? Ummm, for both breakfast and lunch?

Mousehunter: I really don’t see how that is relevant!

Shaz: Ya, I thought you might not want to discuss that! Ok… how did nap time go?

Mousehunter: Great! It was a piece of cake!

Shaz: “Piece of cake” was-it? Could it be because you napped with them?

Mousehunter: Again, I don’t see how this is relevant!

Shaz: Ok, ok… so you said you did laundry right? Where were the kids?

Mousehunter: I took the almost 3 year old down with me.

Shaz: And the baby?

Mousehunter: You know where the baby was!

Shaz: Yes honey, but our friends don’t!

Mousehunter: You took care of him!

Shaz: Ah yes, I did take care of the baby! And that my friends, is how dads do it!

(I did enjoy my day to work almost without interuption, and I felt that since my husband had such a wonderful time with the kids that he would jump at the chance to switch roles on a more permenant basis… )

Shaz: So, ummm, what do you think about the idea of you staying home with the kids and me going back out to work?

Mousehunter: Ummm, NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hysterical!

but, props to Mousehunter for giving it the old college try.  Chowder watches the kids by watching movies with them. all day.

Thoughts from mokey

ah yes!!! the advantages of being a dad!! it’s amazing how i can relate to this blog!

Thoughts from sf

LOL!
You know, most daddies, if left alone with kids(or some)still have to have things done/prepared for them by moms. For example, meals(check),sometimes the baby already had done no.2 before we leave(what a relief for daddies!). I got a smart 6 yr old who shows/guides daddy on things she sees him doing wrongly. He says it’s like having me there all the time! smile

Thoughts from shaz

only mothers (and grandmothers) could appreciate this! smile

I mean, God bless the daddies, because they are great!! And most of the time, willing to help, but sometimes just sooo helpless! smile

Thoughts from JJ

hahahaha!!! he was so busted in the end! funny post.

Thoughts from Asiya

I’ve managed to train my husband surprisingly well, he changes nappies, washes dishes, hangs the washing on the line, even cooks the kids pasta when he’s looking after them. Only sometimes does he spend the whole time with them watching tv and playing jumping castles on the living room couch cushions. But there is that extra advantage, like you, I have the baby! And he also thinks these are the only things that need doing, everything else must just happen by itself! Or perhaps we have an invisible maid!

Thoughts from shaz

i know eh, JJ

Asiya, “an invisible maid”… you have one too?? haha
