me? bitter? no way!.

Last year winter kicked my ass and reduced me to tears a number of times. I mean seriously, by absolutely no stretch of the imagination am I a fan of winter, if I could hibernate, I happily would! We’ve been a bit fortunate so far because this is the first real snow fall for the season, but I really, truly was not built to handle winter, especially on my own.
Anyway. Pray for me, because sitting in my car in tears because I turned into an icicle after spending half hour in the freezing wind trying to disarm my car of snow and ice is not something I want to repeat this winter!

Short answer: not really, no.
Long answer:
One day, a couple weeks ago my mom sent me home to sleep because, I am not sure, I apparently looked like I needed sleep.
My sister looks at me like I’ve started looking progressively worse every day. And then she said “what is up with your eyes??” It seems under my eyes have become a never-before-seen shade of “really dark”!
Finally, I saw a friend at work today, who I had not seen in like a month, she looked at me closely and curiously, then said “you don’t look good. are you ok?” I said, “hmm, uh, you know, tired I guess”. Then she made a face and said “take care of yourself! you don’t look like my shazia!”
I did manage to make a guy in the elevator laugh though, cuz I was eating a huge bag of chocolate covered nuts and he asked if that was my lunch, and I told him, quite honestly, no, I was having it before lunch.
Ok, as you were.

For many reasons, but mostly the shoveling, and the driving. And for your amusement, check out this urban igloo.

1) I am sure that I have some kind of infection – ears, nose, throat, lung – something, and no, it’s not because I am a self-confessed hypochondriac. Actually, it’s feeling a lot like a sinus infection, which, if you remember, was the bane of my existence in summer. Anyway. Joy.
2) So, 2 of my kids have ear infections, and 2 suffer from cold-induced asthma, the same 2. Guess which 2! If you guessed the first and the last, you would be right, because somehow the middle child must always feel left out – even when it’s a good thing! He said to us today that when the two gets something and one is left out, it’s unfair. Heartbreaking, even if he was talking about antibiotics.
3) I showed up at work today for the first time in about 12 days or so, and for only 2 hours. Everyone was somewhat stunned to see me actually make an appearance, and commented that I sounded really sick, and requested that I stay far away. I was glad to be at work, but just the journey to get there completely exhausted me. Now I am ready for bed and its 6pm – welcome to my life.
4) As I write this, my kids are taking turns pulling down their pants and showing each other their butts. I am not entirely sure why they think this is the most hilarious thing ever.
5) It is cold. COLD. Let me stress, IT.IS.COLD. This morning, as my sister and I were scraping ice off our cars, we pondered why it was that we were living here. We didn’t really come up with a good reason. Except that, well, Canada, besides the coldness, is a pretty awesome place to live. In winter though, I just can’t make myself like it, sadly.
6) I haven’t washed my hair in about 2 weeks. I thought I would share that with you, cuz, well, I don’t know. It’s making me nuts, and I wanted 6 points, it just seemed like a natural fit.

Remember how I said that people who experience my cooking, also like to rate my dishes?

Well, I was not kidding! And now I’ve realized that they’ve decided to also give me feedback in the form of criticism loving suggestions. Sigh.
