So, on Facebook, I had a little story contest and the 7 year old randomly picked a winner from the participants… Next time guys – the “great story”, needs to go something like aunty nanoka smile

Whilst I did not try out this particular toothbrush, I have used Oral B electric brushes in the past and they always work very well. I’d definitely recommend them, and maybe the winner would be nice enough to let us know how this one worked out!

Anyway, thanks to Oral B, I have this super interesting looking toothbrush to giveaway! Enjoy Nadia! smile

Giveaway Monday &the ratings

Remember when I talked about people rating my dishes? Well, tonight the person that left me that particular note about my “potential” decided to make Trinidadian pepper sauce (not exactly as in this recipe, but anyway).

He brings over a bottle, calls me down to taste it, then waits with bated breath for my reaction.

Him: So? What do you think?

Me: Yeah, it’s good.

Him: So, what rating would you give it?

Me: Amm, 10.

Him (beaming): Wow! That’s so great!

Me: Huh. I wouldn’t feel that great if I were you, I am a very generous person. I give 10s very easily, unlike some people, who insists that they can never give me a 10.

Him (mockingly): Whatever!

Then people, because I love pepper and it did taste damn good, and I am sort of crazy, and because the closest thing to me was an apple, I sliced it up and downed a whole lot of pepper sauce and apple!

Ok, on to the giveaway – a chance to win a Wrapped & Ready DVD!

Giveaway Monday & the fireworks

We went to Nathan Phillip Square for fireworks on Saturday night. Every time they were set off, my almost 3 year old would exclaim “FIREWORKS!” Then at the end when they were noisy and “popping” very fast and frequently, my 4 year old tried to hide, then started hugging my leg, then told us how totally scared he was.

I’ve never seen fireworks set off from a building before – it was cool, and interesting, mostly the 2 people that came down the sides of the building with some sort of exploding fireworks strapped onto their backs!

Anyway, I reviewed Roxio Creator 2009, which I think is pretty great, and I have one copy for giveaway!! Yay! Leave a comment and I’ll do a random draw next Monday. Good Luck!

image So I’ve been reading about 1 book every 2 weeks – I read almost exclusively on my commute to and from work. My most favorite book so far has to be Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella. It’s witty, funny, smart, for me – very entertaining. I loved it so much that I am giving one away! Unsponsored and everything… this one is really from me!

Girlie giveaways!

It’s rare, and I mean RARE, that I ever fall in love with a Disney animated movie. I mean, I do watch them, but mainly because I am forced, like most of you, I imagine.

Tinker Bell though, was such a lovely movie, I really enjoyed it! Even when my kids lost interest in the “girlie-ness” of it all, and when off to pretend that they were transformers, I stayed and watched it ‘till the end, and then watched it a second time with my sister! Yeah, I loved it that much! Oh, my girlie side!

Good news… I have one as a giveaway! Yaay! Leave a comment, mention tinkerbell, and you’ll be in the running.

And even if you don’t win, here are some fun tinkerbell inspired crafts to have fun with: Paper Flowers, Bird Feeder, and some recipes. Enjoy!

(bonus points if you can figure out how many excessive exclamation marks I used in this post!)

sleeping beauty
I also forced my kids to watch Sleeping Beauty with me, for review purposes, and I kind of also had to force myself to stay and watch it! I am so not into the “classics”, but if you are, it’s a great classic! And I also have a giveaway, so if you want one, leave a comment with sleeping beauty and you’ll be in the draw.
