Love Thursday & my comfort

Isn’t it strange and wonderful how each kid is so amazingly different? I marvel at my kids sometimes, each one has his own specialness, his own strengths, his own weaknesses, and each, my favorite, depending on my mood.

My first born has so much of me in him it’s a bit scary, he has an answer for everything, which he executes with such confidence and “spunk” that it’s hard not to smile, today I asked his brother if he has taken off his boots, and my ‘mini-me’ said “don’t you see 2 pairs of boots there?”, to which I responded, “well, yes, I guess I did”, and he quickly retorted, “then why would you ask him if he took them off, huh??”

I love him to pieces, that kid, he is my rock sometimes, he is the one who comforts me, he is the one who notices if I am upset, he is the one who knows if I need something, he is the one who says “mommy, I love you” just for no reason at all, the one I almost lost, I feel really blessed to be his mom.

Happy Love Thursday

Pain and other things

I picked up my son from school today and as we were stepping down from the curb, I kinda forgot the actual ‘stepping’ part and twisted my ankle! Shocking right? I know… I was shocked as well, given my usual graceful disposition and everything! And just as a side note, if you’re ever in this situation, you may want to avoid driving immediately after!

So, we’re in the car, my 5 year old and I…

me: Arrrrrgh, kid! Oh My God!!! This HURTS!!
5 year old (slightly scared and whispering almost): Is it because of me?
me: Awwww honey, of course not!
5 year old (almost pissed off): Well, why are you telling me then?!!!

Umm, ok then, I am so glad my kids are growing up with such empathy!

In other news, I am doing NaBloPoMo this year again, even though last year I failed miserably! This time around, I have a plan, I am going with photos, haiku, recipes, and other fun little tidbits. Also, I am doing some random giveaways, but only to subscribers… so if you would like to be notified of the giveaways, please subscribe here.

“I sure do love you”

I spent the entire afternoon wrapped in my blanket, while the boys did whatever they wanted in my room, and the baby was forced to suck his pacifier in his crib!

Having the flu is bad enough, but having the flu and being responsible for 3 kids is almost impossible…

The 3 year old was very understanding of the situation and always let me know that he would take care of me (of course the very next second he would be pushing his brother or pulling a toy away from him…which inevitably makes me shout at them), but he means well… I hope.

Chills, dizziness, coughing, sneezing…add some screaming kids, a crying baby, and a husband who was working late… and just when I felt like I couldn’t take it anymore, my eldest son looks at me and says… ”I sure do love you mummy”…
