better half?.I was really ill last week, like deathly ill, ok so maybe deathly is a bit of an exaggeration, but I was feeling rather sick. And when I am sick, I tend to regress into a needy 2 year old who wants only to complain and be cared for, which obviously does not happen, unless you consider caring for yourself being “cared for”.
My dear husband has a serious “infection phobia” (infectiphobia?), so getting him to even touch me while I am sick is a huge challenge…
me: Hey, I feel really ill, can you hug me?
dh: Umm, you’re sick!
me: Ya, I know, hence the hug, please?
dh: Umm, I don’t think so, I don’t want to get sick, and why do you have to behave like you’re dying?
me: I could be dying, you don’t know…
dh: You’re NOT dying!
me: But if I was dying, you’d so regret not hugging me!
dh: Ok, whatever, just go sleep!
Then I did what any cunning 2 year old would, I waited the 3 seconds that it took for him to fall asleep, and then I got “cuddly” close so that his only reflex would be to hug me! Me: 1 DH: 0 ha!

just for fun.Or, as I like to call her, “Sexy Mandy”, the gps unit that talks like we should be dialing 1-900-sexymandy to interact with her!
In all fairness to the GPS-making people, they have included 3 different ‘personalities’, 3 girls (of course) and 1 guy (the guy voice sounds like he scolding us!).
Anyways, my husband, who always forcefully says “I don’t like taking directions from a woman!!”, appears to be really enjoying taking directions from Sexy Mandy… I mean, he was using it yesterday to get directions to my mom’s house! (which is 15 minutes away, just in case you were wondering)

better half?.It is rare that my husband and I watch tv during the day, but today we were sitting on the couch and a there was some sort of really sappy movie on, when the mousehunter informed me that he had seen it before. I was sufficiently shocked since it’s not a movie that I remember ever watching, which obviously suggests that dearest hubby watched a “girlie” movie without me!!
It’s funny sometimes how men react to certain movies or events, usually my husband is pretty much a stereotypical man, hating anything that involves a girl, a boy and a romance, but on occasion he surprises me as he can get all teary-eyed during certain scenes! Like, for example, we were watching Scrubs
, and I turned around to look at him and had to do a double-take because I saw tears in his eyes! Yes, I said Scrubs people!
If you haven’t seen Scrubs, it’s really an awesome show, I got the The Complete Sixth Season to review, and we really enjoyed it. Back before I had kids, we watched the first season, and only very occasionally after that, but when I saw this last season, I found that it was much funnier and more outrageous that I remember. The show is based in a hospital, but unlike regular hospital dramas, this one is completely hilarious and the characters are a bit on the loony side!
So, if you’re curious about what makes the mousehunter cry… I think it depends on the particular storyline, but usually birth and death… how about you?
