So, Blogher is in about 16 days and I think I’ve mentioned that I am speaking, right? Well, that, and the badge that I am displaying on my sidebar… but my point is that I am speaking at Blogher!!

The panel that I am involved in has a session open to attendees to ask questions about WordPress, so I thought that I would open this up to you as well – those of you that use WordPress, or are interested in WordPress at least – ask me anything!! From how to start a blog with WordPress/WordPress.com to how to install plugins…

For a number of reasons, I am taking a break from doing complete web design and development, and I am not accepting any new jobs, many apologies.

swank

I am, however, still accepting design only jobs through Swank Web Style, where you may work with one of Swank’s other excellent developers on the actual setup and coding of your website, estore, community, or blog, but I will work with you on design. If you are interested, you may fill out the contact form and select ‘Shaz’ as the designer, and please note that I am only accepting projects with a minimum budget of US$650.

Tastes like home and sardines

Sometimes when I get really busy or stressed, I unwind by designing a website that I actually really like and enjoy… yes, I know, I am weird like that! But, the thing is that I love doing this, just sometimes inspiration can completely die and then I really need to feel passionate about the website I am working on to get back my “creativity”. And so, I will occasionally offer to redesign a blog that I love, just so that I can clear my head a bit and work on something for the love of doing it and not for the sake of getting paid.

Cynthia, of Tastes Like Home was the talented woman who accepted my offer for a complimentary blog redesign, and she was a complete pleasure to work with! And additionally she makes awesome looking (and tasting, I am sure) food!

She launched her new redesign with a post about her love for sardines, and funnily enough, I also really LOVE sardines! Except that my dear husband has put a sardine ban into effect at our house, because unfortunately he deeply despises the poor little fishes. I think though, that I will have to secretly smuggle some into the house because her photos look so great that I am now craving the stuff!

Wanna work with me?

I think that I’ve made it pretty clear that I am busy. Yes, I am fine… now. I did have a few days there where everything just got to be way too much for me and I did feel like I was losing my mind a little, but I think that a little sleep really helps to put things into perspective!

I launched 2 websites on the same day this week, yes, obviously not the best idea that I ever had, but you know… it’s all a learning experience. smile

What I decided was that I need some assistance right now, so if anyone is good with css, and is interested in some extra work (not a full time job), please email me at info@shaziamistry.com and we can discuss it further.
