If I hear the word “mommy” one more time, my head may actually explode

Just sayin’…

He’s actually not the source, since he doesn’t say “mommy” yet, but I’ve been sick for most of the week and I think it’s getting worse! Currently one side of my face and head is completely aching due to a sinus infection, and it’s accompanied by the flu, so as you can well imagine, it’s been, ummm, fun?

So, since I have been getting in touch with people from my past, some of them have been reading this blog (hi!!), but it surprised me that the number one feedback that I seem to get is that they are shocked that I appear ‘sane’.

Now, at first I was slightly confused, because I mean really, I am pretty sane right? But then, I found some evidence that suggests that I may have been slightly off my rocker back then… for example, the photo below, where apparently I was somehow led to believe that it was a good idea to pretend to be this guy! (yes, I did allow my friends to draw a “goatie” for me and honestly I have no idea why the hair scrunchies arm-bands were even necessary!)

Seriously people! I would like to believe that I was drunk of something, but since I don’t drink, I’ll just blame it on that strange, awkward but pretty awesome period called teenage-hood!

Ok, surely I am not the only one with embarrassing childhood memories… since I bravely shared this with you, what have you got?

On well behaved kids

My kids, in the evenings, behave a little nuts. I am sure that you know what I mean…

So last night, as the 1 year old and 3 year old were running around and screaming, my 5 year old was sitting quietly on the couch. Once I was done passing out my usual “if you don’t stop that right now, I will have to punish you!”, or “don’t take that toy away from your brother!”, or “how many times have I told you not to spit in your hands and rub it all over your face??”, I look at my eldest and said “wow baby, thanks for behaving so good today!”, to which he very seriously responded, “it’s ok mommy, but you know, I am really just tired!”

On boots and other foot wear

You know what the best part about wearing boots is? The boot socks!!!

Seriously, I don’t know if I would consider myself much of a socks fan, I would prefer not to wear them if there was some guarantee that my feet won’t be cold, however, something about socks that go all the way up to my knees is strangely comforting. And yes, I am only now getting on the ‘boot socks’ bandwagon, you know, because I have been wearing the same shoes for the past 2 years, although my sister has been swearing that they are the best thing since slice bread for a while now!

First snow day

Yes, that’s our van, it’s an Odyssey and I have a very strong feelings for it! We had a Dodge Caravan before (although I am sort of in awe with the new ones that they have with the revolving seats and all that) so when I got the Honda, needless to say, I was really loving the way the thing handles!

By the way, it’s snowing.
