This spring I was all set to start composting… I convinced my husband and everything!!
It seemed like a lot of our garbage consisted of food waste, like egg shells, bread crusts, fruit peels… you know… the things that you generate endless amounts of when you have kids! So, I would stack everything up by the sink because I didn’t want to throw it out and I knew that I would one day have a compost, then my husband would come, grumble to himself, tell me something about not having it YET, put all of it into the garbage and go on his way…
However, this April, our city started it’s own composting program, much to my husbands delight, so instead of a box with worms in the backyard, we have a composting bin in the garage that goes out once a week! Works for me… I don’t have a green thumb anyways, so compost would be wasted in my hands!!
Composting is a great start to being Earth-friendly, and for the gardeners… it’s an amazing way because you get awesome benefits!

Just because so many people senselessly lost their lives, because so many gave their lives only to save others, and because it’s getting more and more difficult to find happiness in this world… let’s do something for Heather, a person I don’t know, just because this world needs some more love!

Firstly, a little blog-keeping… I upgraded my textpattern, the content management system that powers this blog, and I can’t remember how to fix my comments so it’s not so convoluted, and since I was sick, I really didn’t feel like figuring it out… so, if you have commented and it’s not showing up, please don’t be mad at me, I didn’t delete it, I just didn’t get it. :( And if you’re going to comment, please remember to “submit” after you “preview”... I’ll fix it soon.
The baby is feeling better, thanks for all the well wishes and prayers. I am also feeling a little better, but I have not fully recovered yet.
You want to know what the worse thing about the stomach flu was for me? No, not the constant bathroom visits, not the continuous headaches, not even the tiredness from taking care of kids while being sick, it was the fact that I didn’t eat in like 3 days and I still didn’t lose any weight!

Since I’m sick, depressed, and feel a little incapable of lighthearted talk at this moment…
Remember the pregnancy story contest at Suburban Turmoil? Well, here is the winner’s site, which I redesigned as her prize!
(there were actually 2 winners, but the second one never contacted me…)

Being a work at home mom does have its challenges, but the greatest one I think, is trying to survive ‘wahmming’ while sick. ugh!
I have a stomach flu, as does the 1 year old, the kids still need to be cared for, my husband is the on-call manager this week (which means that his priority is work), and of course, I have client deadlines.
Is it ok to just crawl into bed and stay there? I mean, except of course for when I need to get out… I do have a stomach flu after all.
I hate to give the excuse that I am sick… I feel that it seems so unacceptable… if I was still working, I would likely take a sick day, but now that it’s my own business, I feel extremely guilty about not being able to fulfill my client deliverables.
It’s funny how this is totally beyond my control, but yet I feel like I am at fault for just wanting to escape everything.
