Love Thursday & youthful spirit

Our vacation took us through about 12 states, and 6 days of driving… add in a completely packed minivan and 3 small kids and it’s nothing short of a miracle that we made it back with our sanity!

To be totally honest, this was one of the best vacations I have ever had, it may have been the fact that we escaped the snow and ice and enjoyed the lovely warm weather (that alone is cause for celebration), but I believe it was just simply enjoying my kids without the guilt of having to work.

Their imagination on the long journey, their laughter, their contentment to spend time with us, their wonder when they experienced new things, their excitement, their resting faces at the end of each full-filled day.

Their spirit was hard to ignore, it was contagious, we spent almost every moment with them, and loved it!

When it ends, it’s sad but when we finally got home, they were ecstatic, even though it was 10pm, they were all smiles, no place like home eh!

"I don't want to leave the fun!"

The day before we left on our long journey back to our icy home in the North, my eldest son cried and cried, and sadly told me that he didn’t want to leave the fun!

I was so sad for him because he knew that once he was home, and the vacation was no more, and the internet was back in our lives, he and his brothers would no longer be the center of our attention. I told him that I was very sad as well, but we had to go back home now.

As we drove off the resort the following day, he said “mommy, are you still sad?”... and I, wanting to show him that I understood his feelings, said, “yes baby, I am, are you?”... and my baby then cheerfully responded with “ummm, no, not anymore!”
