Kiss me.

Parents love those 2 words… well actually; more like “give me a kiss”, but those 2 words makes a better title!

I love to kiss my newborn… babies are so cute… they smile when you kiss them, or sometimes even giggle… they just adore the attention. Not so great… I kissed him just as he opened his mouth, opened it as wide as he could… like babies do, and out came the spit with little chunky white stuff!

The newborn seems to vomit a lot, and my eldest son, who loves to kiss him always exclaims “ewww, you smell stinky, you need a bath!”

Kissing my preschooler involves a lot of deals and negotiations… Sometimes I just like to grab him and give him lots and lots of smooches… One day he said to me, “Mummy, I don’t like your kisses”. So, I had to make a deal with him that I would only give him 1 hug and 1 kiss…

My toddler has to be the most fun these days! Being 2 years old… old enough to understand, but still young enough to enjoy being “babied”. I give him lots and lots of smooches too… and he just blushes and smiles… and he’s so cute… and there’s no fear of vomit!

At least I’m still in higher standings than my husband… who has to usually beg and beg for his kisses!

To my newborn…

Before you forget how much you love me, and love my kisses, and love my hugs… Before my smiles stop making you laugh… Before you can talk and say things like “I don’t like you anymore”… Before you can run away from me… Before you can spit juice in my face… Before you grow up as the third brother and think that I love you the least…

You are my favourite today!

I was listening to my toddler and preschooler having a conversation… yes, when they think that no one is watching them, they actually play pretty good together and not just fight!

They were pretending that they were driving a car…

preschooler: Let’s go to grandma’s house.

toddler: Why?

preschooler: Because we have to get food.

toddler: Why?

preschooler: Because she have food for us.

toddler: Why?

preschooler: Because we need to.

toddler: Why?

preschooler: You are asking too many questions!! Stop asking all those questions!

toddler: Why?

Last night my husband had to go out to work for the night… so I was alone…

Now, being alone in the day is one thing, but, being alone at night… NOT easy!

Everyone knows that I am a big fan of routines… so I guess by extension, my kids are big fans of routines… the problem is that the night time routine is mainly carried out by daddy!

I skipped alot of the things they usually do at bedtime… my idea was to give them a movie and then hope that they fall asleep…

11pm… kids running around the room… albeit tiredly…

My ideas were a bit “idiotic” for lack of a better word… I took off all the lights and pretended that I was going to sleep. [In my defense, I was very tired]

Kids screaming.

Lights back on.

But at least now they know that I meant business! So by 11:30 I had them on their sleeping bags, in our room, sleeping at last.

Daddy finally came home at 6:30am… and he’s sleeping… in the kid’s bed… which is about 3/4 of his size!

All I need is a clone.

… Or maybe 2!

This morning I had to figure out how to hug a newborn, toddler, preschooler, and husband all at once… while still trying to get some sleep!

My kids usually don’t have a problem going to my husband if someone is already in bed with me… this morning I had my newborn… then the preschooler came on the other side, so by the time my toddler came… he had to get daddy…

Well, after crying and mini tantrums, I had to put the newborn back in the crib… then try to deal with the other 2… Neither of them wanted to be in the middle… so I put them both on the end next to each other…

Of course they were fighting!

Husband complaining to get them out of the bed.

Newborn crying in the crib.

I am VERY sleepy.

Isn’t it great to be a mom?!
