As my husband and I were about to go to sleep last night at about 11:30, all 3 kids decided that they would wake up and surprise us with a lovely little melody…
The toddler has the most high-pitched voice, but since he’s not too loud and mostly reaches out to his daddy, I can usually block out his tune…
The newborn is not as enthusiastic as the other 2 children about the performance yet, its more of a little squeak from him, which kind of takes him out of the running…
Now the preschooler…he takes the prize! He’s loud, he can keep on going for a long time without breaks, his pitch goes high and low, and he likes to repeat the same notes over and over!!
If anyone wants to rent some kids for the weekend, please let me know…they give GREAT performances!!
At least they are all asleep right now (including daddy)…

love.
I spent the entire afternoon wrapped in my blanket, while the boys did whatever they wanted in my room, and the baby was forced to suck his pacifier in his crib!
Having the flu is bad enough, but having the flu and being responsible for 3 kids is almost impossible…
The 3 year old was very understanding of the situation and always let me know that he would take care of me (of course the very next second he would be pushing his brother or pulling a toy away from him…which inevitably makes me shout at them), but he means well… I hope.
Chills, dizziness, coughing, sneezing…add some screaming kids, a crying baby, and a husband who was working late… and just when I felt like I couldn’t take it anymore, my eldest son looks at me and says… ”I sure do love you mummy”…

kids will be kids.
I gave my second son some juice in a sippy cup and he was drinking it on the couch…I was sitting right next to him…after about a minute I felt his head against my lap…
Although he does know how to use a sippy cup, today he decided that he would try out a new technique…apparently he shook the sippy cup and spilled juice all over the couch and then proceeded to suck it out!! Ok, you may be wondering how I didn’t notice him, or if you have toddlers…you may know exactly how that happens!
It was a good day though…which is largely based on the fact that they ate well… I don’t know about other moms, but I feel like if my kids eat well then I at least accomplished something during the day!
Now he’s sucking my blanket…I decided to look the other way…

stressed out mom.
For the first time since I had the baby, I am alone with all 3 kids… The eldest one has a cold, the youngest one is constipated, and the middle one…well, he’s the middle one!
I am trying really hard to get a routine going for us…so far the 3 year old woke up at 6:30am and did not go back to sleep… the ‘almost’ 2 year old got up a 6:30am and actually DID go back to sleep till 8am… the newborn got up at 6:30am and woke up ‘everyone’! I gave them breakfast, read them 2 books, we watched TV, they threw cheerios all over the floor (which I had to pick up), then I brought them up for naptime…
I fell asleep first…
I had a 15 minute nap, and when I woke up the 2 boys were asleep…
BUT the baby is still awake!

We sat down to a lovely sunday brunch this morning…my husband opted for fruit loops, I had my usual cereal, the 3 year old decided he wanted bran flakes, and I gave the ‘almost’ 2 year old cheerios…
The 3 year old could not stop talking, and as a result did not eat any of his bran flakes… The ‘almost’ 2 year old kept asking for different spoons and we sort of tricked him into a few spoonfuls of his cereal… The newborn was screaming (although rare, he can get pretty loud when he wants)… My husband and I looked at each other and laughed… The kind of laugh you have when you feel like you can’t win… when you just feel helpless… when you’re thinking ‘I just need 2 minutes to finish my cereal!!!’
I think this explains my constant urge to eat chocolate…
(which I had for desert, after the cereal!)
