Brotherly Love

by shaz on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at 09:12 PM
read more about: being brothers. love.

We are back home…got to my mom’s house about 7pm…the ‘almost’ 2 year old was overjoyed to see us again, mostly his brothers…

The reunion of the 3 year old and the ‘almost’ 2 year old brought tears to my sister’s eyes (I think because she is also a middle child and felt we should not have left him behind)…they were both so happy to see each other…The ‘almost’ 2 year old kept saying his name and hugging him. Of course after 5 minutes they were already fighting!

Again…its 7am on a saturday morning…the middle child is again looking around the room for different things he can interfere with…and is talking rather loudly to himself… The baby is watching me from his crib but I gave him a pacifier instead…

My eldest son is still sleeping…still tired from the trip. My husband is snoring next to me…

I just have to wait about 7 more years and then I can get some sleep too!! And people say I have no patience!

Room Service

read more about: mom escapes.

Last night I had chocolate mousse with berries sent up to the room…

We go back home today…no more room service…back to ‘mom’ service! We had a tiny room, and a tiny bed that we had to share with the baby, but where else can you get chocolate mousse sent up to your room at 10pm??! And it was worth every penny of the $7 it cost and the $3 that we tipped the guy that brought it up!

As my husband and 2 kids sleep, I am going to start packing up the stuff since we need to check out promptly at 1pm. I have to find some place for the cans of corn and tomatoes and tuna that I bought from the grocery here in an effort to save money on food…too bad no one ate it! BUT…I did manage to cook rice and beans here in the tiny hotel room! Ya…AND I also added some baby spinach!

My kitchen? 2 hotpots on the bathroom counter…all you need…

You’re giving me stress!

We’re here in the room, just me, the newborn, and the 3 year old…and apparently “I” am giving the 3 year old stress!!!

Did you ever wonder if you wanted your kids to grow up to be like you?!? Ya, scary isn’t it… Well, I think my 3 year old is starting to pick up my traits…and not the good ones!

I was getting the baby ready so we could go down to the playroom in the hotel and since I was taking a bit long, he looks at me and exclaims that I am giving him stress… Yes, STRESS… The 3 year old child has stress.

So then, we’re in the playroom with another 3 year old kid and, like all kids do, they get into a little tug-of-war over a toy, and in his anger, my little sweetheart says to his buddy ”get a hold of yourself!”… I am thinking to myself…what do I do now…apologize and blame it on his dad!

Oh Baby

read more about: always the baby.

A few months of pregnancy,

A few hours of delivery,

A few weeks of recovery…

Listening to your baby breathing as he lays on your chest…worth every second of the agony… Even if it only lasts a few moments before he spits up on you!!

As I am here with only 2 of them, I am getting to spend more time with the baby and even though he is the third, its still pretty amazing to watch them grow up. He is starting to play with me now, he is laughing and ‘coo-ing’…its great fun…

Road Trip

read more about: 3 year olds. mom of a few. stressed out mom.

So we took a road trip with 2 out of 3 kids…we left the middle one with grandma…YES, I do feel guilty about it! Even with the other 2 it took us almost 6 hours for a 4 hour trip…

Travelling with kids is a bit of a challenge…what to back?…how much to pack?….should we even go?? We decided to leave home at noon, we took the kids to grandma’s house early in the morning so we could have enough time to pack. By 1pm we were ready to leave the house…by 2pm we were pulling out of the driveway…by 2:30pm we were ready to leave grandma’s house with the 2 kids…wait, we forgot something at home…by 3pm we were again pulling out of the driveway… So its 3pm and we’re leaving home, the ‘almost’ 2 year old is alseep so he doesn’t know that we are leaving, and the 3 year old is extremely excited about his trip.

After 3 hours of driving, the 3 year old declares that he would like to go back home and sleep! At 9pm we finally get here, as my husband makes the 3rd trip up to the room, the lady at the front desk comments that we have a lot of stuff! Meanwhile, in the room, 3 year old is bouncing from one side of the room to the next, I am ready to just drop, the baby needs to be fed…and wait a minute…what about dinner?!?
