I am glad I have this blog, because I LOVE you people! Seriously! I am not just saying that, I really, really do! Thank you for your comments and emails! I am still very unwell, and still being rocked by the wanting-to-stab-my-eye-out-pain, but in the grand scheme of things, this is just a minor little bump in life, so, you know… it’s all good!
Anyway, I haven’t gone to kickboxing since Sunday (when I almost totally died, but that’s a story for another time..), and when I was there with my kids on Wednesday for their Tae Kwon Do class, after the owner-guy sang me a song about my sore muscles, he says to me…
Owner-guy: Hey, where is your friend today?
Me: Umm, she’s coming, and she’s my sister
Owner-guy: Really? Wow! You guys look nothing alike! She is so much smaller than you!
Me: Huh. *rolls eyes* yeah… well…. she didn’t give birth to 3 kids!

So, since I am in a crappy mood, like, everyday, pretty much, I thought I would share with you my new “best thing since slice bread”, which I need to consume everyday, and which I hope is aiding with my struggle against the allergens, and not making it worse, because that would be very sad, and I am not sure that I will recover. Seriously.
I know that you’re dying with anticipation, so… it’s Del Monte’s red grapefruit cuz I loooooove red grapefruit, and the fact that it’s already pre-packaged makes me happy, and I will choose to ignore anything negative about this product!
Ok, as you were!

So, yesterday was “clean up” day at work, and I must say that the amount of paper that people store in their workstations is truly fascinating to me! Since I had all of one piece of paper to “sort through”, I thought I would take the time to photograph my desk for you, because I know that you’re just sitting there wondering what it looks like!
Behold!

Everyday I try new medication – sadly, nothing has worked thus far, and on Monday when I had to leave work very early, on account of the whole wanting-to-stab-my-eye-out-pain, all I could think was that I didn’t get to have Pad Thai, because some how my stomach convinced my brain that everything would be all better if only I could have some yummy food, in the form of spicy rice noodles of course! Well, yesterday, I braved the bright sunlight, and dangerous roads, went across the street to the express Thai food place with the ridiculously long lines, and got myself some Pad Thai, and I think that my stomach was probably right, cuz I did feel better after!
I haven’t had coffee or tea since Sunday though, because I feel like it may make my mucus situation worse, and my right eye is swollen, but other than that, I feel smashing! Thanks for your kinds words and “feel-better” thoughts!

I used to be one of those people who never understood why allergy suffers complain that much, I mean, seriously, how bad could it possibly be?
B.A.D.
I’ve never, ever, ever, in my entire life had allergies to anything, so for the first time, I am one of those people, and let me tell you, it is horrific!
It seems that there are 2 factors that are contributing to my aliments, 1) stress, which apparently significantly traumatizes the body’s immune system, 2) high levels of allergens in the air… So, how special am I? I am going through a high stress period, just at the same time that there are killer pollens in the air! Yey me!
Yesterday, my headache was so bad that I felt like stabbing my eyes out (I don’t know why, it was just the feeling I had!), and today my throat feels like it’s closing up. Seriously, I step out of the house and I literally feel like I cannot breathe.
Ok allergy-suffering-people, I.Get.It!

I cook a variety of food, and I really hardly ever repeat dishes (those of you who know me from waaay back, may remember when I actually went 6 months cooking something different everyday) to the extent that it’s not uncommon for my eldest to lament over the rare occasions that we have leftovers, as if it’s outrageous that I serve him the same thing more than once! There are things though, that I will never make, simply because my mom is an awesome cook and there is no possible way my version can ever compare, for example last night’s dinner…

I enjoy almost anything, I am not picky, but there are a few things that I really enjoy, one of those things is curry fish head, (yes, go ahead, gag if you must!) and clearly it’s a very unattractive dish, and I can guarantee not everyone will like it, but what can I say, it was yummy to me!
